CEI, Zuppi: no all'eutanasia, lo Stato colmi il vuoto sulle cure palliative

Cardinal Zuppi, president of the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI), stated that there is no right to die, but rather a right to receive care and never be left alone. Speaking at the opening of the Permanent Council meeting, which concludes on Wednesday, September 23, Zuppi argued that the State must address the lack of palliative care instead of turning to euthanasia.

During his address, Zuppi also referenced the encyclical Magnifica humanitas by Leo XIV. He expressed concern about the rehabilitation of war and rearmament, and defended public schools as inclusive spaces against the influence of algorithms.
