Celebrata a Falconara la Giornata per la custodia del creato

Archbishop Angelo Spina presided over a diocesan day for the care of creation on September 20 at Parco Kennedy in Falconara Marittima. The event brought together families, young people, and parishioners to focus on the themes of peace, the gift of water, and environmental stewardship.

The 2026 theme, Acqua viva, was inspired by the passage from the prophet Ezechiele regarding water flowing from the temple. During the Mass, which local priests concelebrated, a mappamondo that flowed with water served as a symbol of the human responsibility to protect this resource.

The celebration is part of the Tempo del Creato, which runs from September 1 to October 4. In his homily, Archbishop Spina discussed the message from Pope Leone XIV for the XI Giornata mondiale di preghiera per la cura del creato, which uses words from the prophet Isaia. Local officials, including Mayor Stefania Signorini, scout groups, and the MASCI of Falconara, attended the gathering.
