The Diocese of Saint-Hyacinthe announced the death of diocesan priest Léonard Gariépy, who died on September 27, 2026, at the age of 88. He passed away at the Service de santé du Séminaire de Saint-Hyacinthe.

Family will receive condolences on Friday, October 9, 2026, starting at noon at the Séminaire de Saint-Hyacinthe, located at 650, rue Girouard Est, Saint-Hyacinthe. Bishop Christian Rodembourg will preside over the funeral, which is scheduled for 14 hours that same day in the chapel of the Séminaire.
