Ciencia y fe en el Día Mundial de los Microorganismos 2026

World Microorganism Day 2026 commemorates the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Spanish Society of Microbiology by Juan Marcilla Arrazola.

The year also recognizes microbiologist María del Pilar Aznar Ortiz, who was the first Spanish woman to achieve a professional scientific position. Alfonso V. Carrascosa of Religión en Libertad states that these events demonstrate the reconciliation of science and faith in contemporary Spain.
