Cierges de Lourdes : les artisans de la lumière

The Ciergerie de Lourdes is preparing to produce the candles for the torchlight procession scheduled for September 27, 2026. This production will support the evening procession at the Sanctuary, where Pope Leo XIV will join pilgrims as a participant during his apostolic journey to Lourdes.

The company produces 450 tons of candles of various sizes each year for pilgrims to use during their prayers to the Virgin Mary. The workshop, which will celebrate its centenary in 2028, uses artisanal methods to manufacture the lights used throughout the Marian City.
