CNBB publishes condolence note for João Monteiro de Barros Filho

The National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB) issued a condolence note to the family of João Monteiro de Barros Filho following his death on Thursday, September 10.

Barros Filho, a journalist, radio broadcaster, and businessman, was the founder of the Rede Vida television network. He died at the age of 87.

In the note, the CNBB presidency expressed solidarity with the family, friends, and employees of the Catholic television station. Bishop Jaime Cardea, writing on behalf of the CNBB presidency, stated that Barros Filho contributed significantly to the history of Catholic communication in Brazil through his work with Rede Vida. The note described his career as a legacy that served evangelization and the promotion of Gospel values.
