Priest Álvaro Serrano Bayán has released a new book titled Crecer en humildad. 7 pasos con el cardenal Merry del Val, which offers a guide to practicing humility in daily life. The book, published by Monte Carmelo, compiles letters, writings, and spiritual advice from Rafael Merry del Val, who served as secretary of State for san Pío X.

Serrano, a priest of the Archdiocese of Toledo, spent 7 years researching and organizing the writings of Merry del Val to create a spiritual itinerary. The work highlights how Merry del Val, despite holding a position of great responsibility, sought a simple life.

Cardinal Pietro Parolin wrote the prologue for the book. Serrano describes Merry del Val as a man who recognized his talents but chose not to make them the center of his life, providing a model for navigating modern social pressures for recognition and likes.
