COMUNICADORES AL SERVICIO DEL EVANGELIO

Nearly 80 people attended the Archdiocesan Meeting of Parish Communicators on September 19 at the Salazar y Herrera University Institution. The event provided training and reflection on how to communicate the Gospel within local pastoral communities.

Participants attended three workshops focused on creative skills, using words to tell stories, and improving oral and physical expression. Lida Losada Castro, the communications coordinator for the Episcopal Conference of Colombia, gave the central talk. She urged communicators to undergo five specific shifts: moving from simple posting to purposeful communication, from listing activities to announcing God's work, from addressing general audiences to meeting specific people, from working in isolation to working as a unified Church, and from measuring reactions to evaluating actual impact.

Castro stated that communication is not an accessory to evangelization but a way to participate in the Church's mission by listening, accompanying others, and making God's actions visible. The meeting ended with Mass led by Father Juan Ricardo González, the rector of the San Juan Pablo II Seminary.
