Cardinal Jaime Spengler signs pact with Electoral Justice and other religious institutions

Cardinal Jaime Spengler, president of the CNBB, signed the Peace and Tolerance in Elections pact alongside Electoral Justice and other religious institutions. The agreement brings together public authorities, civil society representatives, and religious leaders to promote a culture of peace during the electoral process.

The campaign, which began in 2022, encourages dialogue, respect, and tolerance during elections to support political competition based on democratic coexistence. During the signing, Spengler stated that peace comes from living with differences without turning an opponent into an enemy.
