Costa Cabral sai à rua para dar vida ao espaço de todos

Residents and local businesses are working to revitalize Costa Cabral Street through community activities and street art. Following municipal urbanism changes designed to improve road safety and traffic management, the local association MaCaCa is leading efforts to encourage neighbors to use the newly expanded pedestrian spaces.

On Friday morning, children from Osmope began coloring safety dividers to decorate the wider sidewalks. Local artists are guiding the project, with students from Perpétuo Socorro and Centro Escola de Costa Cabral scheduled to participate in future painting sessions. Laura Lupini, representing MaCaCa, stated that the primary goal is for the community to take ownership of the street. She noted that residents feel safer walking without fear of cars due to the recent municipal measures.

In partnership with Ágora, MaCaCa will host biweekly activities on Costa Cabral Street every Saturday starting September 26. These events will include opportunities for residents of all ages to participate in community projects, such as planting and maintaining flower boxes.
