Diocese of Nantes to recreate western facade stained glass

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

The Diocese of Nantes will replace the destroyed western facade stained glass of Saint Pierre and Saint Paul Cathedral with a contemporary work. Four teams have been selected as finalists to design the new window.

The original 16th-century stained glass was destroyed during an arson attack on July 18, 2020. Bishop Laurent Percerou announced during a press conference on October 13 that fragments saved by restoration teams will be displayed in the cathedral crypt.
