Daughters of St Paul attend SIGNIS World Congress 2026 in Kigali

Three members of the Daughters of St. Paul participated in the SIGNIS World Congress held in Kigali, Rwanda, from August 3 to 8, 2026. The event, which marked the first time the congress was hosted in Africa, brought together more than 300 media professionals, educators, communicators, and religious members from over 40 countries.

The congress focused on digital communication for cultural harmony and environmental wellbeing. Discussions centered on using digital technologies and artificial intelligence to support peace, the protection of creation, and intercultural dialogue. Topics included media literacy, the ethics of artificial intelligence, disinformation, and digital evangelization.

Sr. Rose Paccatte spoke about digital literacy, while Sr. Anna Kipounamai moderated a panel on digital media literacy. Sr. Joeyanna D’Souza presented on digital discipleship and communication for communion. Additionally, Sr. Olga Masango Jose and Sr. Mary Chantal Musabyimana attended from the EAMZZ delegation, and the Sisters of Kampala managed a book stand for attendees. The congress addressed the responsibility of media to promote truth and reconciliation, particularly within the context of Rwanda's history.
