De la ambulancia al herbario: religiosas cuidan la salud en la Sierra Tarahumara

Religious sisters are managing hospitals and clinics to provide healthcare in Mexico's Sierra Tarahumara region, where poverty and a lack of basic services worsen illnesses.

In the communities of Sisoguichi, Norogachi, and Creel, the sisters provide medical consultations, patient transport, medications, and preventative care. Some sisters also work with local communities to lead workshops on traditional Rarámuri medicine.
