The July-August 2026 issue of the Courrier de Rome features a series of studies by Abbé Christian Thouvenot examining the early stages of various papacies.

Thouvenot uses the maxim that the beginning is more than half of the whole to analyze the history of the Church. His work applies this principle to the pontificates of Saint Pius X and Leo XIV to interpret the direction of their modern reigns.
