Archaeologists discovered beams dating back to the First Temple of Solomon beneath a parking lot in Jerusalem.

The discovery occurred during excavations held in July 2026 at the Givati parking lot in the City of David. While archaeological digs are not possible under the esplanade of the Mosques, researchers regularly conduct studies in the surrounding areas.
