Dicastery for Evangelization promotes formation course for Bishops

The Dicastery for Evangelization is hosting a formation course for bishops who were ordained between 1999 and 2022. The program, titled Servants of Communion in the Church, began on Sunday, September 13, and runs until Saturday, September 19.

Twenty-one bishops from English-speaking African countries are participating in the working and discussion sessions. This experimental program is organized by the Section for First Evangelization and New Particular Churches.

The course takes place at the Ad Gentes Centre in Nemi, the residence of the Society of the Divine Word. The location is historically linked to the Second Vatican Council, as the commission that drafted the decree Ad Gentes met at the center in early 1965.
