Bishop Francesco Follo explained that the parable of the vineyard workers illustrates God's generosity and his desire to give meaning to every life. Writing for ZENIT News Agency, Follo noted that the parable presents a human paradox where a landowner hires workers at various times throughout the day, including as late as five in the afternoon.

Follo cited Pope Leo XIV, who described the landowner as an indefatigable figure who repeatedly seeks out those looking for purpose. According to the bishop, the landowner's decision to hire workers at the end of the day provides hope to those who may have lost it, as the master seeks to value every individual regardless of when they begin their work.
