Diocese de Limeira celebra Nossa Senhora das Dores em missa que marca os 200 anos da cidade e da Catedral

The Diocese de Limeira will celebrate the feast of Nossa Senhora das Dores, its patroness, on Tuesday, September 15, marking the 200th anniversary of both the city of Limeira and the Catedral Nossa Senhora das Dores.

Father Cassio Roberto Rossette, the diocesan administrator, will preside over a solemn mass at 10h at the cathedral. The event is expected to bring together diocesan priests, seminarians, religious brothers and sisters, and the faithful. Later that day at 16h, Father Benedito Tadeu Rosa will lead a mass, followed by a procession and the coronation of Nossa Senhora das Dores.

The festivities include a novena beginning this Sunday, September 13, which Archbishop José Roberto Fortes Palau of Sorocaba and former bishop of Limeira will preside over. The diocese noted that the devotion to Nossa Senhora das Dores is tied to the history of Limeira and the presence of the Catholic community throughout the city's two centuries of development.
