Diocese of Atambua's Social Communication Commission trains 50 students
The Social Communication Commission of the Diocese of Atambua provided news writing training to 50 junior high and senior high school students at St. Augustine Fatubenao Parish on Monday, October 5, 2026.
The training included individual and group practical exercises to equip students with journalism skills for their future education. Participants learned from Father Yudel Neno, head of the diocesan Social Communication Commission, staff member Yulius Mali, and Pastoral Center staff member Okto Klau.
Father Primus Seran, the parish priest, said the training is part of both the parish program and the diocesan calendar. He noted that developing writing skills is necessary to provide more complete information and to prepare students for higher levels of schooling. Father Primus encouraged students to find current events to write about and expressed hope that learning would continue beyond this single session.
