Diocese of Campos celebrates 100 years of Paróquia Nossa Senhora do Rosário

Nossa Senhora do Rosário Parish in Campos dos Goytacazes celebrated its centennial in 2026 with a novena and a ceremony honoring the clergy. During the commemorative event, Bishop Roberto Francisco joined the festivities and participated in the novena dedicated to the parish patroness.

To mark the historical milestone, a commemorative plaque was unveiled to honor the priests who led the community over the last century. Parish priest Father Silvio Coquito stated that the tribute recognizes the pioneers and priests who established the foundations of the church.

Located in Parque Leopoldina, the parish was originally known as Igreja Nossa Senhora do Rosário do Saco. The parish serves local residents and the faithful traveling between the city center and its outskirts.
