Diocese of Cuenca invites families to enroll children in catechesis

Parishes in the Diocese of Cuenca are inviting families to enroll children in catechesis for the upcoming pastoral course. The diocese is also encouraging adults who have not yet received the sacrament of confirmation to participate.

Parishes describe the program as a way for children and adolescents to grow spiritually and develop values that complement their school education. Local parishes suggest that enrolling children in the nearest parish provides them with a sense of community and reflection.

The call for enrollment follows a period of high sacramental activity in the diocese. Official data from the end of 2025 shows that 502 catechists volunteered to support children, youth, and families. During that year, 779 people celebrated their First Communion and 880 people received the sacrament of confirmation.
