Diocese of Ebibeyin inaugurates 2026-2027 Pastoral Year

The Apostolic Administrator of Ebibeyin, Msgr. Mbo Olinga, launched the 2026-2027 pastoral year during a ceremony at San Pedro Claver Cathedral on Saturday. The event brought together diocesan priests, religious men and women, catechists, and other pastoral workers.

Msgr. Olinga identified three primary goals for the year: prioritizing doctrinal formation through catechesis at all levels, scheduling diocesan ministry according to the diocesan project, and fulfilling the legacy of the late Msgr. Miguel Ángel Nguema Bee.

During his homily, Msgr. Olinga noted several challenges affecting the faith of local Christians, including illiteracy, drug addiction, secularization, and rural migration that leaves village chapels empty. He also addressed the loneliness experienced by many priests serving in parishes.
