Diocese of León celebrates San Froilán with religious and cultural events

The Diocese of León is celebrating the feast of San Froilán through a series of religious and cultural events. The festivities include the Cantaderas ceremony, a parade of banners, and solemn masses held at the cathedral and the Basilica of La Virgen del Camino.

The Diocese of León is also presenting the second annual San Froilán Awards at the Diocesan Museum. These awards recognize local entities in five categories: religious commitment, educational improvement, ethnographic traditions, cultural heritage, and social innovation.

Other scheduled activities include an organ concert by Angela Metzker as part of the International Organ Festival and an exhibition marking the centenary of Domund. The diocesan seminary is beginning its academic year with a lecture by Professor Nicanor Martínez. Additionally, a parish collection will take place to help rural communities pay for maintenance costs.
