Diocese of Macapá launches "Uma Flor para Maria" campaign

The Diocese of Macapá has launched the Uma Flor para Maria campaign to collect donations for decorating the Círio de Nazaré celebrations. Supporters can contribute to the campaign until October 8 to help provide flowers and foliage for various religious spaces and processions.

The donations will fund decorations for churches, celebration stages, and the boat used during the river pilgrimage. The funds will also cover the floral arrangements for the platforms used in processions and the berlinda, which is the structure that carries the image of Our Lady of Nazareth during the main procession. This year, the decoration team must also prepare a new space for the presentation of the mantle, as that mass will be held separately from the translation mass.

Lauriane Figueiredo, a member of the fundraising directorate, stated that the demand for flowers is high because of the large number of locations and the size of the berlinda. Planned floral varieties include roses, lilies, carnations, chrysanthemums, snapdragons, and anthuriums.
