Diocese of Málaga priest Gabriel Pérez Sánchez dies at 93

The Diocese of Málaga has announced the death of Father Gabriel Pérez Sánchez at age 93.

Born in Algatocín on October 19, 1932, Pérez Sánchez was ordained in 1960. His pastoral work included serving as the administrator of Jubrique, the person in charge of Genalguacil, and working in his hometown of Algatocín. He also served as a parochial vicar at San Felipe Neri for three years before moving to Casares as an administrator.

Pérez Sánchez served as a chaplain at Carlos Haya, focusing his ministry on caring for the sick. He maintained a connection with the San Felipe Neri parish in Málaga, where he served as parochial vicar, parish administrator, and parish priest. In 2016, he was assigned as a parochial vicar to Santa María de la Victoria, La Merced, and San Lázaro.
