Diocese of Salta celebrates Milagrito Camposanteño 2026

The community of Campo Santo is celebrating the Milagrito Camposanteño 2026 from September 11 to 20. Held under the theme "Constructors of peace and good," the festivities honor the Señor and the Virgen del Milagro at the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria parish.

The celebration is rooted in a devotion dating back over a century. In 1896, residents of Campo Santo requested a priest from the bishop to celebrate the cult of the Señor del Milagro locally, as traveling to the city of Salta was difficult at the time.

The parish hosting the event, Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, was established in 1782 and features colonial architecture with adobe walls and pinturas cuzqueñas. Campo Santo is located in the General Güemes department of Salta, approximately 63 kilometers from the provincial capital.
