Diocese of Santarém promotes online course

The Diocese of Santarém is hosting an online course titled “Conservação Preventiva: boas práticas em edifícios eclesiais” to help communities care for their religious heritage. Organized by the Secretariado Nacional dos Bens Culturais da Igreja, the training will be taught by Eva Raquel Neves.

The course consists of four sessions scheduled for September 15, 22, 29, and October 6, between 20h00 and 22h00. Participants will learn practical methods to avoid improper habits and follow basic procedures for preserving patrimônio imóvel, móvel and integrado used in worship. The curriculum begins with general concepts before analyzing specific types of heritage that require the most attention.

The training is intended for anyone responsible for the Bens Culturais da Igreja, including párocos, sacristães, zeladores, mordomos, members of conselhos económicos/pastorais, and irmandades. Interested individuals can register through the provided online form.
