Diocese of Valledupar and CONACED strengthen Catholic education

The Diocese of Valledupar and representatives from the National Confederation of Catholic Education (CONACED) held a working meeting to coordinate efforts for Catholic schools in the region. Bishop Óscar José Vélez called for attracting new institutions to the confederation and increasing involvement from the diocesan educational ministry.

CONACED director Father Misael Meza Rueda stated that the confederation is following a three year global educational plan to increase its regional presence and promote Catholic education. The group aims to improve both teaching quality and pastoral work within schools.

Members of the confederation receive ongoing training for teachers and students, along with access to university partnerships. These alliances include scholarship opportunities for students from member institutions who achieve high scores on ICFES exams. Participants proposed setting specific goals for next year and planning an assembly to evaluate results and future actions.
