The Diocese of Salamanca will hold its 18th Pastoral Week from September 17 to 20. Mariano Montero linked the upcoming event to the themes of God's compassion and building communion found in the Sunday Gospel.

Montero noted that the Gospel passage discusses the necessity of unlimited forgiveness, using the biblical concept of forgiving seventy times seven to represent an infinite capacity for mercy. He explained that while humans struggle to forgive, the parable illustrates that only God can cancel an unpayable debt through compassion.
