Dolly Parton unites music and faith

Dolly Parton described finding God through a spiritual experience in an abandoned church.

According to Sonsoles Hernandez of Vida Nueva, Parton shared a parable about hiding in the building to sing. She stated that while praying fervently, she broke through a spiritual wall and experienced the presence of both God and music in that same place. Parton noted that the church was being used by people struggling with drug addiction and prostitution at the time.
