Dom Geovane delivers homily at Ronivon Amorim's ordination

Bishop Geovane delivered a homily during the ordination of Ronivon Amorim to the priesthood in the Diocese of Divinópolis.

During the ceremony, the bishop told Amorim that the sacrament of holy orders is an extraordinary grace for those called to serve as guides and pastors for the people of God. He noted that this calling is granted without personal merit and warned that priests must avoid viewing their ministry as a worldly transaction. The bishop stated that forgetting this debt to God can cause ministry to degenerate into a business model where the Church is treated like a company that hires or discards employees.

Bishop Geovane also described the ordination of a new priest as a call for the local Church to increase its missionary presence. He encouraged the clergy and the faithful to be a missionary Church that remains active within the pastoral communities and peripheries of the diocese.
