Dom José preside Missa na novena de Nossa Senhora das Dores em Limeira

Bishop José Roberto Fortes Palau presided over the eighth day of the novena for Nossa Senhora das Dores in Limeira on Sunday, September 13. The Archbishop of Sorocaba led the Mass in preparation for the feast of Nossa Senhora das Dores, the patron saint of the Diocese of Limeira.

During his homily, Bishop Palau spoke on the theme of Mary as Queen of heaven and earth. He explained that Mary holds this title because she is the mother of Jesus and an active collaborator in God's plan of salvation. He described her as a glorified creature who serves as a sign of what Christians are called to achieve.

The archbishop noted that Mary protects the Church and intercedes for the faithful. He encouraged the congregation to ask for her help in overcoming sin and seeking forgiveness. He concluded by presenting Mary as a figure of hope who remains close to her children and intercedes for them at the gates of heaven. Father Benedito Tadeu Rosa, the rector and pastor of the Cathedral, concelebrated the Mass.
