Dominican President Leanne Giese to Retire

Leanne Giese will retire as president of Dominican High School at the end of the 2026-27 academic year. Giese has been with the Whitefish Bay Catholic school for nearly 19 years, having joined in 2008 as director of advancement before becoming president in 2012.

During her leadership, Giese managed two capital campaigns to modernize academic and athletic facilities and oversaw the renovation of St. Dominic Chapel. She also guided the school through a change in sponsorship from the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa to Dominican Veritas Ministries. Under her presidency, the school's endowment grew by nearly 400%, and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee awarded the school Exemplary Recognition for Mission and Catholic Identity.

The school's board of directors has formed a search committee and expects to select a new president by spring 2027. The incoming president is scheduled to start on July 1, 2027. Giese will serve as a consultant during the 2027-28 academic year.
