Dominican Sisters adopt new leadership structure

The Dominican Sisters of Western Australia have adopted a new leadership structure following their last formal Chapter.

Bishop of Geraldton Michael Morrissey spoke at a Mass for the sisters to mark the transition. He said the change would allow the community to continue its legacy of courage, faith, service, and community.

The sisters' history in the region began in 1899 when Mother Gabriel Gill, five pioneer sisters, and one postulant arrived in Geraldton at the invitation of Bishop William Bernard Kelly. Emeritus Bishop of Geraldton Justin Bianchini joined Bishop Morrissey as a concelebrant at the Mass.
