Archdiocese of Oviedo begins 2026-2027 course
The Archdiocese of Oviedo has launched the 2026-2027 academic year for its theological centers and seminaries. Following a novena to the Virgin of Covadonga, seminarians participated in volunteer work and training sessions covering anthropology and the challenges of new technologies and artificial intelligence. During these sessions, students studied Church documents including the encyclical Magnifica Humanitas by Pope Leo XIV. The training concluded with spiritual exercises in Celorio led by Abbot David Cueto.
The Metropolitan Seminary of Oviedo welcomed four new students from the propedeutic course, which is held at the Monte Corbán Seminary in Santander through a collaboration agreement. These four students include three from the diocese of Oviedo, named Samuel, Juan Manuel, and Ricardo, and one from the diocese of Santander, named José Luis. Additionally, the Redemptoris Mater diocesan seminary has one new seminarian, Ángelo.
Classes have already begun at the theological study centers located in Prado Picón.
