Education key to Christian survival in the Middle East

Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) is supporting more than 15,000 students in over 200 Christian schools across the Holy Land, Syria, and Lebanon to help preserve Christian communities in the Middle East. The foundation also provides financial aid to nearly 2,500 teachers in these regions.

The foundation identifies Christian schools as essential for community stability amid ongoing conflict and uncertainty. While most of these institutions serve students from various religions, ACN notes they often act as spaces that promote coexistence and tolerance within the broader society.

Lebanon receives the highest level of support from ACN. Since the 2021 banking system collapse and subsequent financial crisis, many families have been unable to pay tuition fees. ACN has provided assistance to help prevent the collapse of the Lebanese education system.
