Obispado Castrense de Colombia participates in 'Liberar y cuidar' meeting

The Military Ordinariate of Colombia participated in the Liberar y cuidar meeting, a training and reflection session organized during the 2026 Colombian Episcopal Conference. The meeting addressed the ministry of exorcism and deliverance through a pastoral lens, emphasizing responsibility, discernment, and a culture of care.

Father Benedicto Peña and Father Jesús Amador Quiceno, the Episcopal Vicar for the Colombian National Police, represented the Military Ordinariate at the event. The session highlighted the need for priests to perform these services with prudence, proper training, and pastoral accompaniment while respecting the dignity and needs of those seeking help.

The Military Ordinariate stated that these training sessions help strengthen the work of chaplains and priests who provide spiritual care to members of the military, the national police, and their families. This ongoing formation is intended to provide clergy with better tools to offer pastoral care that aligns with Church guidance.
