According to analyst José Carlos Martín de la Hoz, the book suggests that Pope Francis prepared Cardinal Prevost to become the Roman Pontiff to complete the work of addressing sexual abuse in Latin America and Peru. The investigation describes the transition as a way to finish tasks the previous Pope could not complete due to the vast scale of the abuse crisis.

Martín de la Hoz notes that the author's analysis is shaped by his personal history as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and his lack of faith in God and the Catholic Church.
