Élie Chouraqui « Jésus est mon juif préféré »

Élie Chouraqui discussed his personal relationship with faith and biblical narratives during an interview with KTO's Lumière intérieure. The discussion followed the release of his new comic books, « Moïse » and « Le Roi David », and his film, « Les Héros du Louvre ».

Chouraqui, who identifies as Jewish by culture, described faith as a personal decision. He noted that the Bible informs his work because the texts address human struggles, hopes, and freedom rather than existing solely as religious or historical documents. He also spoke about the sense of silence and the feeling of connecting with the divine when entering a church.

During the interview, Chouraqui expressed his fascination with Jesus, whom he affectionately referred to as his favorite Jew.
