Elsa Suárez renews as Director of Cáritas Diocesana de Oviedo for 4 years

Elsa Suárez Álvarez-Cascos has been renewed as the director of Cáritas Diocesana de Oviedo for a four year term. The renewal became effective in July according to the statutes of Cáritas.

Suárez has served the organization since 2013, starting as a volunteer in the employment program. She previously served as the coordinator for Cáritas Arciprestal de Oviedo in 2021 before being appointed director of the diocesan branch in July 2022.

As director, Suárez acts as the executive leader for all actions of the organization. She directs work to carry out these actions following the guidelines of the Archbishop and the governing bodies of Cáritas Diocesana. The statutes specify that this leadership role is a voluntary position.
