Writing for The Monitor, O’Connor notes that while the Catechism teaches that family instruction should precede and enrich other forms of faith formation, many parents struggle with how to implement this mission. She suggests that parents do not need theology degrees to evangelize their children and points to Antonia Acutis, mother of St. Carlo Acutis, as an example of a parent navigating this role.

O’Connor emphasizes that consistent prayer is essential for parents to effectively share the faith. She acknowledges that finding time for prayer is difficult amidst the busyness of raising young children and states that prayer life often changes after having kids, but maintains that daily prayer provides necessary grace.
