EMRC: professores reunidos com o Sínodo no horizonte

Hundreds of teachers of Catholic Moral and Religious Education (EMRC) from state, private, and Catholic schools in the Diocese of Porto met on September 12 at the Casa Diocesana de Vilar. The meeting, organized by the Diocesan Secretariat for Catholic Moral and Religious Education, coincided with the start of the new school year and the upcoming diocesan synodal process.

During a plenary session, organizers presented details regarding the 2026–2028 Diocesan Synod, including the bishop's decree of convocation, the pastoral letter, and scheduled synodal training meetings in the deaneries. The meeting also introduced the establishment of Comunidades Profissionais Sinodais (CPS) and its installing commission. These communities aim to involve EMRC teachers in the synodal process by utilizing their professional experience and the presence of the subject across various educational settings in the diocese.

Following the plenary, teachers joined sectoral teams organized by educational areas. These smaller groups brought together educators from different municipalities to share experiences and reflect on the new communities.
