En Roma se ha celebrado el 300° aniversario de la canonización de San Estanislao Kostka

Pilgrims from Poland celebrated the 300th anniversary of the canonization of Saint Stanislaus Kostka with a thanksgiving Mass at the church of Sant’Andrea al Quirinale in Rome on September 15. The group arrived in Rome after completing a walking pilgrimage following the footsteps of the Polish saint.

Cardinal Gianfranco Ghirlanda presided over the Mass held near the tomb of Saint Stanislaus. He was joined by Bishop Szymon Stułkowski of Płock, Auxiliary Bishop Adam Bab of Lublin, and various Polish priests. The event was also attended by Adam Kwiatkowski, the Polish ambassador to the Holy See, and Sigita Maslauskaitė-Mažylienė, the Lithuanian ambassador to the Holy See and the Military Order of Malta.

Saint Stanislaus was born in 1550 to a Polish noble family in Rostków. He later moved to Vienna to study at a Jesuit college. His tomb and a dedicated chapel are located within the Sant’Andrea al Quirinale church.
