Escutismo: Região de Lisboa do CNE celebra centenário em 2026

The Lisbon Region of the Corpo Nacional de Escutas (CNE) is celebrating its centenary in 2026, marking 100 years of scouting service in the area. An opening ceremony to launch a year of commemorations takes place today at the Mosteiro de São Vicente de Fora in Lisbon.

The event brings together scouts, leaders, former leaders, and representatives from various public and institutional entities. During the ceremony, organizers will officially present the centenary image and announce several initiatives planned for the commemorative year involving the region's groups and Núcleos.

The Lisbon Region is one of the largest regional structures within the CNE, covering the same territory as the Patriarcado de Lisboa. It currently includes 12,670 scouts organized into 136 Agrupamentos and 7 Núcleos. For a century, the organization has used the scouting method to promote non-formal education, volunteering, civic participation, and personal development for children, youth, and adults.
