Etueffont: visite pastorale de Mgr Jachiet

Bishop Denis Jachiet met with representatives from the four parishes of the Giromagny-Rougemont deanery on Saturday, September 12, in Etueffont. Members from the Sainte Famille, St Jean, Ste Madeleine, and St Nicolas parishes gathered to discuss ways to increase the presence of the Church in local villages and how to gather more effectively as a deanery.

During the pastoral visit, Bishop Jachiet noted that while Sunday Mass attendance and the number of priests are declining, requests for baptisms, particularly among young adults, have tripled in recent years. He described the current situation as a key moment for the local Church. He encouraged the attendees to consider how they can collectively carry Christian life and remain visible within their specific neighborhoods and villages.
