EVENT | FCAPP Second European conference on Catholic Social Teaching and EU integration
The Foundation Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice will hold its second European conference on Catholic Social Teaching and European integration in Brussels on November 11–12, 2026. The event focuses on supporting the European idea during challenging times.
The conference brings together representatives from the Church, academic institutions, diplomatic circles, and European institutions. Participants will discuss European security and defense, migration, peace, prosperity, and the role of Catholic Social Teaching in European integration. Archbishop Bernadito Auza, the Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union, is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech on the relationship between Catholic Social Teaching and European integration.
The Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE) is collaborating on the event. Father Manuel Enrique Barrios Prieto, Secretary General of COMECE, will provide the opening greeting. Friederike Ladenburger, an adviser for COMECE on ethics, research, and health, will moderate a panel discussion regarding European security and defense.
The German chapter of the Foundation Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice is organizing the conference in cooperation with its Netherlands chapter. The Foundation’s General Secretariat and the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the European Union are also participating as partners. This meeting follows a previous conference held in Luxembourg in January 2026.
