EWTN News’ Magdalena Wolińska-Riedi crowned as Polish speech champion

EWTN News correspondent Magdalena Wolińska-Riedi was named Poland’s speech champion on Sept. 19. She received the Master of Polish Speech award during the 26th edition of the Mistrz Mowy Polskiej Social Program ceremony in Ostrowiec, Poland.

The award was determined by a nationwide poll in which participants selected a winner through text votes. Wolińska-Riedi, a Vatican affairs expert who joined EWTN News in 2024, noted that the honor typically goes to famous Polish actors, journalists, or scientists. She said the recognition was meaningful because she has spent many years working abroad in Rome.

The Master of Polish Speech Vox Populi award was established in 2000 to promote Polish language and culture. Wolińska-Riedi previously worked as a Polish correspondent in Italy for Telewizja Polska and has translated works from Polish into Italian and Latin for the Roman Rota. Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski and Ostrowiec Mayor Artur Łakomiec attended the ceremony.
