Father Alex Gallardo Quelín shares reflection on Chilean identity

Father Alex Gallardo Quelín, the diocesan pastoral vicar for the Diocese of San Carlos de Ancud, shared a reflection on Chilean identity during the 2026 national holidays. In his message, he discussed the country's history and the responsibility to build a more just and fraternal nation.

The reflection highlights the Bicentenario of the incorporation of Chiloé to Chile and the Centenario of the Coronation of the Virgin del Carmen as Queen and Mother of Chile. Father Gallardo Quelín used Psalm 33 to describe the nation as blessed because God chose its people. He encouraged the community to thank God for their shared identity and the land they inhabit.
