Father Koch: Living discipleship should be the hallmark of our lives

Father Garry Koch shared a reflection on the Gospel for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time, focusing on the parable of the two sons. He noted that while the story of one son refusing to work but later changing his mind seems simple, its original context caused division between Jesus and the religious leaders in Jerusalem.

Koch explained that Jesus told this parable in the Temple area following his entry into the city and his overturning of the money changers' tables. According to Koch, the parable increased the tension between Jesus and the Pharisees and Sadducees during a time when Jesus had already drawn significant attention from both the crowds and officials.
