In an interview for the quarterly publication Więź, Jean-Luc Marion discusses how modern intellectual frameworks limit the ability to approach questions about God. Marion tells Karol Grabias that the modern project of defining the boundaries of reason has turned everything knowable into an object.

Marion explains that when knowledge became synonymous with certainty, anything that could not be studied as a concrete, spatially extended object was excluded from the realm of reason. He traces this process back to the opposition of faith and reason.
